Japanese Imari Lobed Porcelain Dish – Blue & White Plum Blossom with Red and Gold

Japanese Imari Lobed Porcelain Dish

A beautiful hand-painted Japanese Imari porcelain dish with a graceful lobed, quatrefoil rim. The center shows a gnarled flowering plum (prunus) tree and pine in rich cobalt underglaze blue, highlighted with iron red and gilt blossoms. The wide border is painted with chrysanthemum medallions and scrolling leaves in blue, red, yellow and gold.

Lovely as a serving dish, catch-all or wall plate, and a natural fit for chinoiserie, blue and white and Asian-inspired interiors.
