Atlanta Home & Lifestyles Home for the Holidays Show House & Marketplace is a yearly event benifting the Southeastern Horticultural Society's Children's Learning Gardens and Farms. Formerly known as the Christmas House, the show house is in Atlanta tradition running from November 19th to December 7th and is open Wednesdays to Sundays.
Our design for the main level covered veranda for the Atlanta Home & Lifestyles Holiday house is complete and we are thrilled with the result. Tickets to tour the house can be purchased at the Holiday Home website here. This year's home is located at 2865 Habersham Road and sits atop a hill in one of Atlanta's most desired residential areas.
We were asked to design the space for the main level back veranda and jumped at the chance to participate in such a wonderful Atlanta holiday tradition. Our inspiration for this years Holiday show house started with the amazing Beacon Hill Chinoiserie print Hidden Temple in the indigo color way. Our desire was to have a mixture of textures with a blue and white color palate. Hidden Temple was perfect for the starting point.
Our goal for the design was to create a "Classic Southern" veranda. By taking the inspiration fabric and adding in traditional blue and white Asian exports mixed with textured rattan and wooden pieces we achieved the perfect timeless balance of new and old. Our oversized white lacquered mirror over the mantle makes the fireplace the focal point in the room. We created two living spaces; a comfortable seating area in front of the rock fireplace and an outdoor dining and entertaining area complete with a vintage table and faux bamboo dining chairs.
Our table scape includes a mixture of new and antique dinner featuring antique Mottahedah Blue Canton salad and bread plates, Mottahedah Blue Dragon dinner plates and Ralph Lauren soup bowls in the classic Glen Plaid pattern.
Avala International was kind enough to loan us most of the blue and white export porcelain pieces in the space. They have an amazing collection of historic patterns and their pieces are the "good" blue and white.
Currey & Company is one of the top leading lighting lines in the market. They were so generous to loan us several pieces, the sofa end tables from their Faux Bois outdoor collection and a pair of the Palm Beach chic rope style lanterns to be placed on each end of the covered veranda.

We also partnered with Cotton and Quill using 4 of their Terrace Collection ShiShi foo dog print pillows in the Midnight color way. These 22 inch pillows add such a fun and fresh element to the space.
Surya loaned us this amazing Pazar rug in Navy which provides the perfect softness to the back veranda.
Some more sneak peeks for you ~
These custom calligrahied menus were made for us by our dear friend, the incredibly talented Natalie Chang. The navy and gold along with the small lion head knockers embodies our exact desire when we designed this space. They are truly "Classic Southern".
Come and see our space along with the rest of the home starting on November 19th. Each room is so well done and represents Atlanta at the Holidays.
We are in great company at this year's Holiday show house ~
